The Next Big Thing for Cat Rescue in Grand Rapids
Second Chance Cat Rescue is a cat adoption agency looking to help cats all across West Michigan.
Why we rescue cats

We rescue cats because we want to make a difference in the world. We know that there are more than 100 million stray cats and kittens living on the streets of America today, and not nearly enough adoptive homes for them all. When you adopt from us, you’re providing love, shelter, and sustenance to an animal who would otherwise have none. Many are forced to live out their days as wild scavengers. Helping us will allow you to take a step closer toward making this earth just a little bit better place for animals like our beloved kitties!
How you can help a cat in need

Cats are one of the most popular pets in America, with over 100 million cats living in homes across the country. You can help by fostering a stray cat, donating to our rescue, and adopting one yourself. Cats are social creatures that love affection and company, so caring for a kitty will make both you and it happy!
Ways you can adopt a cat or kitten from us

If you are looking to adopt a new feline friend, we have many cats and kittens available for adoption. We always recommend adopting in pairs, so that your cat has company during the day while you’re at work or school. They also love playing with their kitty friends.
We require an application before bringing your new pet home.

The benefits of adopting an animal from our rescue

Buying a cat from a pet store or breeder can be expensive. If you’re looking for a solution that will save you money and give a furry friend the life they deserve, then consider adopting from our rescue. There are some of the amazing benefits of adopting an animal from our rescue.
You’ll be giving them a new lease on life. Our animals come to us because they were left out on the street to fend for themselves. We take care of all medical needs before we adopt out each one so that there are no surprises like unexpected vet bills popping up down the road.
How to volunteer

Do you love cats? Are you passionate about animal welfare and the care of animals in need? If so, then we have a volunteer opportunity for you. We’re seeking volunteers to take care of our furry friends and make sure they’re comfortable while waiting for their new families to come along. This can include feeding, cleaning litter boxes, providing freshwater & food dishes, and socializing with the kitties by petting them or playing with toys. There is always something that needs doing. Every day at our feline sanctuary is different, and every day brings its own joys.
Please fill out the volunteer application or email us at volunteer@sccatswm.org for more information.
